Many students, youth, men, and women from different parts of Burma, including Arakanese, come to Thailand for different reasons. Many are of school age and want to continue their education and get better qualifications to work for their community.

Therefore, Arakan Youth Network Group (AYNG) was formed in 2000 with the aims of promoting education and capacity building for students, young men and women, to keep abreast with other ethnic youth, to care about environment, to maintain and protect tradition, culture and history inheritance, and to work together with other youth organizations as a member of Nationalities Youth Forum .

AYNG publish a magazine, Sone Lee, and a newsletter, Gatespa . Since it was formed, AYNG has been running an English class for its young members in the office; some ethnic young people also come to study English there. There has also been computer, accountancy and health education training.
